On Monday, September 14, �鶹��Ƶ will open an exhibition of Marcia Wolfson Ray �鶹��Ƶ ’s artwork in the Cooley Gallery. The exhibition will showcase two- and three-dimensional work of Wolfson Ray, primarily a sculptor, who investigates processes of transformation and evolution of materials. The exhibition will run through Dec. 11, 2026, and is open to the public at no cost.

Marcia Wolfson Ray will deliver a public talk on Wednesday, September 16, at 2 p.m. in the Cooley Gallery. A reception will follow.

Cooley Gallery is located on the second floor of the John Stewart Memorial Library and open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 11 p.m. Sunday.

�鶹��Ƶ is pleased to announce the opening of �鶹��Ƶ “Life, Death, and Objects That Move Us: Three-Dimensional Art, �鶹��Ƶ ” a new exhibition showcasing the work of five women artists whose practices span ceramics, enamel, metal, mixed media, and sculptural assemblage. The exhibition is on view through September 5, 2026, in the Sue Davison Cooley Gallery of the �鶹��Ƶ John Stewart Memorial Library. Admission is free and open to the public.

An exhibition featuring artwork by visual arts and graphic design faculty from �鶹��Ƶ and Hagerstown Community College will open Wednesday, February 26, in Cooley Gallery, �鶹��Ƶ. The show runs from February 26 to April 30, 2025. There will be a reception to open the exhibition on Wednesday, February 26 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

This year �鶹��Ƶ ’s exhibition will center on Wilson �鶹��Ƶ ’s spring ArtsFest �鶹��Ƶ ’25 theme, Shared Stories. ArtsFest is an annual celebration of the arts in our community, showcasing the remarkable art, artists, and artistic opportunities at Wilson. ArtsFest �鶹��Ƶ ’25 will run from April 7 �鶹��Ƶ – 11, 2025. As part of ArtsFest �鶹��Ƶ ’25, our Cooley show will center on community Shared Stories through shared experiences, participation, practice, cooperation, collaboration, presence, and engagement. Artists will address the human experience, the stories of who we are, what we are, shared hopes, dreams, anxieties, perspectives, etc. As we all know, art is central to creating and reflecting community. For this show, artists were invited to reflect on and share collective stories & experiences, whatever those may be. Visitors can expect to see work in a variety of media, including drawing & painting, photography, design, sculpture, and more.

This exhibition features a body of work that Professor Philip Lindsey created during his sabbatical in the spring of 2024. The pieces selected for this particular show are only some of the art he made for his research project during that sabbatical, including paintings and charcoals, both single- and-mixed media.

This exhibition was collaboratively curated with Wilson �鶹��Ƶ ’s MFA Students.

Please join us Monday, February 14th from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. in �鶹��Ƶ �鶹��Ƶ ’s Cooley Gallery for the opening of Epidemic: An Exhibition by Dr. Eric Avery & Adam DelMarcelle. During the first half of the opening, visitors will have an opportunity to view the exhibition, and in the second half, they will be invited to participate in a Q&A with Visiting Assistant Professor of Graphic Design Adam DelMarcelle and Cooley Gallery Curator Joshua Legg in the Lenfest Learning Commons.

For printmakers, Dr. Eric Avery and Adam DelMarcelle, the work featured in this exhibition is a duty. It is a social action and commentary emerging from personal and professional experiences that the two artists are compelled to address in their creative practices. The content of this exhibition was developed in response to both America �鶹��Ƶ ’s rapidly growing opioid epidemic and the (now) longstanding HIV/AIDS pandemic.
